Note from the International Relations Office (DRI) to foreign exchange students at UFRJ:

Rio de Janeiro, March 27, 2020

After the beginning of the serious health crisis that we face against the COVID-19 pandemic, we sent you recommendations from universities on how to act. We reinforce the importance of permanent attention to personal care and the daily reading of information that is posted on UFRJ’s coronavirus website (https: //coronavirus.ufrj.br/).

We also ask again that everyone remain calm, implement hygiene and personal cleanliness measures, and maintain social isolation as much as possible. Try to find places for medical services that are closest to your homes in case you need them and the address of the diplomatic representation of your country in Rio. We insist that you keep in constant touch with families, and we remind you that you can contact us at the email This email address is being protected from spambots. We ask that each of you respond to this form to update your information. We are mapping everyone's situation so that we have the big picture and can act more quickly where necessary.

We inform once again that UFRJ decided to suspend academic activities indefinitely.

If there are students who have returned to their countries of origin without notifying us, we kindly request that they inform us. We are working remotely and we will try to assist them with the administrative aspects in these cases.
