Survey for exchange students at UFRJ - URGENT


DRI recently sent out forms to exchange students at UFRJ or at foreign universities in order to understand their health situation and each of their demands, as appropriate.

We therefore request that students from foreign universities studying at UFRJ who have not yet completed the survey we sent via email do so urgently, even if they have already returned to their countries of origin. It only takes 2 minutes. Click here to access it.

After the beginning of the serious health crisis that we face against the COVID-19 pandemic, we sent you recommendations from universities on how to act. We reinforce the importance of permanent attention to personal care and the daily reading of information that is posted on UFRJ’s coronavirus website (https: //

We also ask again that everyone remain calm, implement hygiene and personal cleanliness measures, and maintain social isolation as much as possible. Try to find places for medical services that are closest to your homes in case you need them and the address of the diplomatic representation of your country in Rio. We ask that each of you respond to this form to update your information. We are mapping everyone's situation so that we have the big picture and can act more quickly where necessary.


We inform once again that UFRJ decided to suspend academic activities indefinitely.


If there are students who have returned to their countries of origin without notifying us, we kindly request that they inform us. We are working remotely and we will try to assist them with the administrative aspects in these cases.

Notice to UFRJ’s students abroad

UFRJ’s International Relations Office recommends our students abroad to follow the instructions on

We suggest those willing to return to Brazil to obey the quarantine period, avoiding physical contact with other people and keeping social isolation for 7 days after arrival, even if asymptomatic.

In case of an onset of symptoms, we severely recommend medical assistance. We reinforce that only the most serious cases should look for hospital assistance.

What concerns to reactivation of register and enrollment in courses, we have already given instructions both to international and academic coordinators. All actions will be performed by them.

We would like to reinforce that our major concern is the students safety, and we also really recommend continuous communication with relatives, who usually are the first to be aware of all of their actions.

Statement to foreign students in exchange at UFRJ regarding COVID-19 (Spanish and French below)

We inform that all academic activities were suspended in UFRJ for 15 days, counting as of today. We have also sent by e-mail all recommendations provided by the university regarding the procedures to be taken in the face of the Corona Virus (COVID-19) spread. We are resending them to assure that all receive them. We ask that everyone remain calm and isolated as far as possible. Additionally, try to track down the SUS’ (Brazilian Public Health System) medical posts that are closer to your residence, and also your countries’ consulate or diplomatic mission. We recommend that you always keep contact with your families and that you inform us about any confirmed cases of Covid-19. Further information about the COVID-19 and the location of the medical posts can be found in the Corona Virus app ( We reaffirm that only those who have the Covid-19 symptoms and are in a more delicate condition should go to the medical posts.
Due to the pandemic, attendance to the public will ideally occur by virtual means. On-site attendance must be scheduled through the aforementioned e-mail.

Se puede obtener más información sobre COVID-19 y la ubicación de los puestos de atención médica con la aplicación SUS ( Hacemos hincapié en que solo las personas en una condición más grave deben ir a los puestos médicos.

Plus d'informations sur COVID-19 et l'emplacement des postes de soins de santé peuvent être obtenues avec l'application mobile SUS ( Nous soulignons que seules les personnes dans un état plus grave devraient se rendre aux postes médicaux.
